Empowering Voices: The VoiceMaster’s Inspiring Online Talk with the Girl Scouts of the Philippines

Empowering Voices: The VoiceMaster’s Inspiring Online Talk with the Girl Scouts of the Philippines

On a vibrant afternoon filled with laughter, realizations, and wisdom, Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzalez delivered a powerful and entertaining message to the Girl Scouts of the Philippines during their webinar on written and spoken English. Far from your typical lecture, it was a rollercoaster of emotions and energy — from voice impressions and jokes to serious reflections on purpose, passion, and self-worth.

More Than Words: A Voice That Inspires

“People just come and go, but only precious few remain — and even fewer stay. Don’t make someone your priority if you’re only an option to them.”

These words set the tone of the talk. The VoiceMaster spoke candidly about self-respect and knowing one’s value — a crucial reminder for young girls growing up in a world of constant comparison.

His message? Never be ashamed of who you are or the talents you were given.

“God gave you your talent. Don’t be ashamed of it. Share it.”

He used humor, metaphors, and even playful skits like “Alo, alo! Yung puno naging monster!” to keep the discussion light and engaging — but the deeper message was clear:

"Embrace who you are and enjoy the process of becoming better.

DFA: Desperation, Frustration, and Aspiration

The VoiceMaster introduced his own version of DFA — not the Department of Foreign Affairs, but a life formula:
Desperation + Frustration = Aspiration.

“All the painful things we go through — they become fuel for our dreams.”

He explained how our toughest moments are not signs to quit, but stepping stones toward finding our direction and purpose in life. The girls were reminded not to compare themselves to others, because everyone blooms at their own pace.

Passion Over Profit

One of the most resonant points he shared was the importance of motivation:

“Don’t make money your motivation. Make passion and purpose your guide.”

He encouraged every young listener to pursue what they love — not because it pays well, but because it fulfills them.

The Power of Voice

As a pioneer in the voice acting industry, Pocholo didn't just talk about life lessons — he showcased his vocal talent live, taking requests from the audience and talking about his book, Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent.

The book, now sold out in bookstores but available on Shopee and Lazada for only ₱50, is a guide for aspiring voice artists and a glimpse into Pocholo’s 20-year journey in the industry.

“Imagine a TV or radio without a voice. That’s how important you are.”

A Voice That Leaves a Mark

This wasn’t just a talk — it was an experience. One filled with laughter, deep insights, and a renewed belief in one’s voice and value. To the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, it was more than just a mini-course — it was a moment of empowerment, courtesy of a master of his craft and heart.
