Goals with Soul: Rediscovering Your Best Self through the VoiceMaker Principles
When people talk about goal-setting, they usually imagine planners, resolutions, and timelines. But during my talk at First Pacific Leadership Academy (FPLA), I introduced something deeper—goals that are not just smart… but soulful.
Because productivity without purpose is just busy-ness.
And action without meaning? That’s burnout waiting to happen.
This is why I shared the VoiceMaker Principles—a set of guiding truths that transform goal-setting into life-setting.
“Walang patutunguhan ang bangka kung wala itong direksyon.”
“Walang patutunguhan ang bangka kung wala itong direksyon.”
You Become What You Focus On
Your goals are your GPS in life. I told the participants, “Write your goals down. Not just for clarity—but for destiny.” Because a dream that’s not written is just wishful thinking. Direction beats motivation.
“Bago mo marating, kailangan mo munang maramdaman.”
“Bago mo marating, kailangan mo munang maramdaman.”
Visualize the End from the Start
I taught them to see, feel, and live their future in advance. Incantate your goals—don’t just list them. See yourself healthier, wealthier, more fulfilled. Then reverse-engineer your actions to get there.
“Any vision without execution is hallucination.”

Don’t Just Plan—ACT
I told them bluntly—stop procrastinating. Don’t wait for motivation. Move first, and motivation will follow.
“Divide your goals into days. Kasi hindi mo kayang tapusin ang taon sa isang upuan.”

Break Down, Don’t Break Down
Instead of setting mega-goals and then quitting, break them into milestones. Monthly, weekly, daily. Then celebrate small wins like a legend. Small wins lead to big victories.
“Hindi mo kailangang gawin mag-isa ang pangarap mo.”
“Hindi mo kailangang gawin mag-isa ang pangarap mo.”
Find Your Lifeline
I urged everyone to get an accountability partner—someone who will check on you, correct you, and cheer for you. Share your vision, but act with precision.
BONUS PUTSology Truths I Dropped
- “No money equals no freedom. But don’t make money your motivation—make purpose your power.”
- “You don’t grow just to impress others. You grow because someone’s counting on you.”
- “Gratitude is the oxygen of greatness. Ungrateful people will always feel poor—even when rich.”
“Write it. See it. Say it. Do it. Be it.”
