Inspiring Voices, Empowered Futures: The VoiceMaster’s Impactful Talk at the First Pacific Leadership Academy

In a gathering that celebrated excellence beyond borders, The First Pacific Leadership Academy (FPLA) welcomed a truly unique force in the world of motivation, media, and mentorship — Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales.

From imitating radio dramas as a young boy in Bataan to becoming the Philippines’ most sought-after voice artist and a global ambassador for Filipino talent, Pocholo’s journey is proof that your voice can shape your destiny — and inspire others along the way.

🌟 From Humble Beginnings to Global Voice

When Pocholo took the stage, he didn’t just speak — he performed, taught, and transformed. With authenticity and humor, he recalled growing up without a TV, using radio dramas like Gabi ng Lagim to entertain and unknowingly train himself in voice acting.

“No one can touch the microphone except me—from high school to college.”

That love for the voice evolved into a profession, then a mission. At age 16, he won a nationwide voice acting competition, landed a radio show, and eventually founded Creative Voices Productions, the country's premier voice-over production company.

🎯 Excellence Rooted in Service and Passion

Pocholo challenged the audience to rethink success:

“Excellence is not about awards. It’s about making other people better.”

Despite early dreams of being a factory worker, he discovered something more powerful — a passion that would lead him to start companies, win awards, and represent the Philippines internationally. Through projects with global giants like Sega Japan, he proved that Filipino voices can resonate far beyond local airwaves.

🌍 Using Voice to Give the Youth a Platform

Beyond business success, Pocholo’s deepest impact may lie in his advocacy. He founded the Voice of the Youth Network, which now runs over 18 youth-led radio programs across the country — all without major funding.

“I asked radio stations to give Filipino youth 30 minutes a week. Because if we don’t give them a voice, who will?”

It’s this commitment to empowerment that earned him 25+ international and local awards — not for popularity, but for purpose.

🧠 Education and Empowerment Go Hand in Hand

Though he found success early, The VoiceMaster never stopped learning. He pursued speech communication and later earned a master’s in broadcasting. He studied under the world’s top voice artists, including Bill Farmer (voice of Goofy) and James Alberger (The Art of Voice Acting).

And now? He’s sharing that knowledge across the Philippines — especially with teachers, through his Voice Care for Teachers program, helping educators protect their most important teaching tool: their voice.

💬 For the Dreamers with More Than One Dream

When a student asked, “How do I choose between two passions — medicine and media?”, Pocholo responded with empathy and empowerment:

“Why choose? You can be both. Let your broadcast skills help you reach more people as a doctor. Use every gift you have.”

He reminded the crowd that success isn’t about choosing the safest path — it’s about believing, doing, and creating your own opportunities when no one opens the door.

🎤 Your Voice Can Change the World

From presidential impressions to Spongebob skits, Pocholo demonstrated more than just talent — he embodied the power of personal branding, passion, and purpose-driven storytelling.

“Your voice is not just a gift. It’s a choice.”

As the audience laughed, clapped, and cheered, one thing became clear: The VoiceMaster didn’t just speak to them — he spoke for them. For the dreamers. For the doers. For every Filipino who’s ever wondered if their voice matters.
