On December 16, JCI Makati hosted a fundraising event with the special screening of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” It was held at the Cinema 7 of Glorietta 4 in Makati City. The project was headed by JCI Makati 2018 Treasurer, Mr. Joey Garcia. Over 200 guests filled the cinema to support this event.

The latest Star Wars installment continues the story of Rey, a human female Jedi, and scavenger who finally discovers exiled Jedi, Master Luke Skywalker, along with the story of the war between General Leia Organa’s Resistance and the First Order. “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” has received raved reviews from local and international fans, being dubbed as the “best Star Wars film ever.”

Also present during the screening is Teacher Fe Lustanas, whose advocacy is one of the beneficiaries of the event. “Education Under the Bridge” is Teacher Fe’s volunteer effort to teach the underprivileged kids who live under the bridge in Bulungan Area, La Huerta in Paranaque City. This advocacy earned her the Gawad Geny Lopez Jr. Bayaning Pilipinong Guro Award in 2015.

Also present during the special screening were JCI Makati 2018 Executive Vice President Earl Sebastian, Vice President Kurt Soliman, Regional Training Director Reynard Francisco, Immediate Past President Ken Tiu, and incoming President Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales.
