The VoiceMaster Inspires Iloilo Youth to Discover their Life Purpose

The World Youth Alliance (WYA) Iloilo Chapter organized the second installment of “Adulting 101,” held at Assumption Iloilo’s St. Anne’s Hall on January 5 and 6, 2018. With the theme “Seeing the world through different lenses,” the 2-day conference aims to teach Junior and Senior High School students tips and tricks to help them grow as responsible adults, discover their potential and enhance their leadership skills. Twelve inspiring speakers – young leaders, successful professionals, and notable leaders – shared their valuable time to teach their skills and expertise to the youth.

WYA Iloilo Adulting 101 Part 2 with the Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo Gonzales

Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales is one of the speakers on the first day of the conference. In his plenary entitled “Capture,” Pocholo’s presentation focused on teaching the participants how to discover their creative side and ultimately find their life purpose. After energizing the students with a quick icebreaker, Pocholo shared his 22-year journey to being recognized as the VoiceMaster of the Philippines. 

He introduced the art of voice acting to the audience and highlighted how his voice acting school and his book “Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent” contributed to the recognition of the industry as an art and a viable career especially for young people.

Pocholo also entertained and amazed the audience by showcasing his own voice acting prowess. He performed several voice impressions of cartoon characters and famous personalities, both dead and alive. He also showed a video clip of his company, Creativoices Productions, being featured in Kabuhayang Swak na Swak in ABS CBN, where it showed his voice acting workshop and its students.

Pocholo also spoke about National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal, whom he considers to be the epitome of Filipino greatness and excellence. He challenged the students to raise their personal standards and imbibe Rizal’s values and ideals.

Pocholo then transitioned his talk to the subject of life purpose and gave the students tools to help them discover their passion and purpose even at a young age. He also gave the students a moment of reflection to write a letter to their “future self,” and envision themselves as someone they dream to become.
