That was the central message when Pocholo De Leon Gonzales, known as The VoiceMaster of the Philippines, took the virtual stage at the JCI Makati Young Leaders Summit. The VoiceMaster opened his session by encouraging full interaction, challenging attendees to turn on their cameras and engage fully. He emphasized that leadership is never about titles or designations—it’s about influence and authenticity, even when no one is watching.

He then introduced ACE Leadership, which stands for Authentic, Creative, and Enthusiastic Leadership—a philosophy that has guided him through decades of leading movements, organizations, and changemakers across the Philippines and beyond.

Finding Purpose Through Voice and Vision

Gonzales shared his humble beginnings—from mimicking voices in a small town in Bataan to becoming a global voice acting icon, entrepreneur, author, and youth advocate. But more than personal achievements, he focused on teaching young leaders how to find their “why”.

He asked five powerful questions to provoke deep reflection:

1. Who are you?

2. What do you do?

3. Who do you do it for?

4. What do they need from you?

5. How will their lives change because of what you do?

"Purpose is the reason you exist. Your voice is the tool to fulfill it."

Throughout his talk, Gonzales showed how the principles of voice acting—authenticity, connection, and emotional resonance—are the same principles needed for effective leadership.

Using live demonstrations of voice characters and storytelling, he reminded everyone:
