Igniting the Voice of a Generation: Pocholo Gonzales and the Youth Entrepreneurship Revolution

Igniting the Voice of a Generation: Pocholo Gonzales and the Youth Entrepreneurship Revolution

In a world where success stories are often painted with overnight glamour, Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales stands as a rare beacon of truth. His message? Success is not handed to you. It’s earned—with purpose, persistence, and passion.

At the Youth Entrepreneurship Program organized by DTI-CAR, the VoiceMaster delivered more than just a talk—he sparked a movement.

From Sidewalks to Soundstages

Pocholo’s entrepreneurial journey began long before the boardrooms and awards. As a child helping his grandmother sell vegetables in the local market, he unknowingly absorbed the core principles of entrepreneurship—initiative, service, and hustle. That humble beginning eventually led him to discover his gift in voice acting, a skill that would shape his identity and legacy.

At just 16, he became a radio broadcaster for DZMM, and from there, his voice has reached every corner of media—anime, commercials, radio dramas, and even puppetry on national television.

The Man Behind Thousands of Voices—and Businesses

More than just a voice actor, Pocholo is a visionary entrepreneur. He is the founder of Creative Voices Productions, the Voice Acting Academy Philippines, and Voice of the Youth Network. Through these platforms, he has trained and mentored thousands of voice artists, dubbing talents, and aspiring entrepreneurs.

But his mission doesn’t stop there. He co-founded Titans Business Ventures Corporation, a company behind successful food and retail brands like Over Mango, Mr. Baba Shawarma, Smoothie, and Tokyo Joe—all launched with purpose and grit.

Entrepreneurship as a Calling, Not a Convenience

For Pocholo, entrepreneurship is not about getting rich—it’s about solving problems and serving people. He broke down the qualities of a successful entrepreneur during his lecture, emphasizing 12 foundational traits:

  1. They don’t do it for the money – Purpose comes before profit.

  2. They’re not afraid to fail – Mistakes are part of the process.

  3. They focus on one purpose – Clarity fuels growth.

  4. They seek mentors – Guidance accelerates success.

  5. They understand their “why” – Passion powers perseverance.

  6. They start small, dream big – Scale follows vision.

  7. They prioritize and organize – Productivity requires focus.

  8. They delegate – No one succeeds alone.

  9. They believe in themselves – Faith fuels action.

  10. They strive for excellence, not perfection – Done is better than perfect.

  11. They avoid negativity – Your circle shapes your success.

  12. They never stop learning – Growth is a lifelong journey.

Teach-nology: Mentorship in the Digital Age

The VoiceMaster coined a term that summarizes his belief in future-forward education: "Teach-nology"—the fusion of teaching and technology. He uses online tools, voice training, webinars, and digital platforms to continue spreading his message even amidst a global pandemic.

He emphasized the power of networking in the digital age, urging the youth to use tools like Rizeli, a tech-powered business platform, to begin their entrepreneurial journey even with zero capital.

The Rizal Within: Purpose as the Ultimate Guide

One of the most moving parts of his talk was his tribute to Dr. Jose Rizal, whom he sees as the embodiment of Filipino greatness. With over 200 Rizal monuments visited and documented, Pocholo carries Rizal’s spirit by advocating for purpose-driven leadership and global citizenship.

“Rizal didn’t have technology or freedom like we do—but he had purpose. What’s your purpose?”

Passing the Torch: Mentorship Begins at Home

In a touching part of his story, Pocholo shared how he mentored his own son, Patrick, into voice acting. From age 2, Patrick joined him in studios and eventually developed a voice acting skill of his own.

This, Pocholo says, is the essence of true leadership:

“Greatness means nothing if you don’t share it—especially with your own children.”

Final Thoughts: A Call to Action for Young Entrepreneurs

Through all his titles—VoiceMaster, author, speaker, entrepreneur, mentor—one thing remains clear: Pocholo Gonzales is a dream enabler. His story reminds every Filipino youth that you don’t need to start rich—you just need to start right.

So he leaves young dreamers with this challenge:

“Do something today that your future self will thank you for.”

In a world full of noise, he teaches the youth how to be heard—not just loudly, but meaningfully.
