Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales, a former delegate to the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSYEAP), gives an inspirational talk to the 28 Filipino delegates of this year’s SSEAYP, September 24.
The VoiceMaster talked about his experiences as a delegate and as the head of the Cultural Committee during their batch and he leads the performances of the entire delegation which was comprised of numerous song and dance numbers in different countries.
SSEAYP is a diplomatic and cultural exchange program sponsored by the Cabinet Office of Japan and happens with the help of the member-countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
It is an annual program that joins more than 300 youth from ASEAN countries including Japan and gives the delegates the chance to live together while on the Japanese cruise ship MS Fuji Maru for more than 50 days. SSEAYP started in 1974.
This year’s batch is already the 38th. The delegation is composed of 28 youth from all over the countries, representing different regions together with a national leader.
