Pocholo Gonzales Elected as JCI Makati’s President for 2018

Filipino motivational speaker, author and youth advocate Pocholo Gonzales – also known as the VoiceMaster of the Philippines – was elected as the President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Makati. The election was held on September 20 at Ramen Metro in Makati City, in conjunction with the monthly General Meeting of the Makati Jaycees.

Pocholo has become highly respected and recognized in his various endeavors. As the most recognized Filipino voice artist, he is primarily responsible for opening the doors of the voice acting industry as the Founder of the Philippine Center for Voice Acting, the first and only voice acting school in the country. Since 2005, it has produced more than 1,000 graduates, with hundreds of them now thriving in their career as dubbers, voiceover artists, hosts and even radio DJ’s. Pocholo also wrote the first voice acting book in the Philippines, “Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent,” which is one of the finalists in the 2017 National Book Awards under the Professions Category.

Pocholo’s heart for inspiring and empowering his fellow Filipinos is also evident in the many advocacy organizations he has founded. Among these organizations are Voice of the Youth Network (which focuses on youth media), The Microphone Club (which creates a mentoring and opportunity-sharing network among hosts, broadcasters, voice artists, and many more), Youth Entrepreneurship Academy (which provides training and mentoring to aspiring young Filipino entrepreneurs), and Society of Young Filipino Speakers (which is the training ground for aspiring motivational speakers).

During his term as JCI Makati President, Pocholo plans to focus on learning and development so he can maximize his strengths and talents in training and motivational speaking. He will further his advocacy for Youth Entrepreneurship with initiatives to empower and enable young Filipinos who desire to own their businesses. Pocholo has been a valuable member of JCI Makati since 2012.

JCI Makati is one of the chapters of JCI Philippines under the “Metro South” cluster. It was founded in March 1964 under the leadership of Marcos B. Aragon. JCI’s mission is to inspire young people to recognize their responsibility to create a better world and empower them to drive change.
