The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (Go Negosyo) launched its Kapatid Mentor MicroEnterprise Program (Mentor ME) in Guiuan, Samar on June 14. It was held at the Farmer’s Training Center of Eastern Samar State University. Over 100 microentrepreneurs attended the launch, which also featured a seminar on the basics of business and marketing.
Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was one of the speakers, who spoke about Entrepreneurial Mindset. In his presentation, entitled “Entrepreneurial Mindset of a Successful Entrepreneur,” Pocholo shared his experience as a sole proprietor of his voiceover company Creativoices Productions – from its humble beginnings to being the leading online voiceover services company in the Philippines. He entertained the participants with his voice acting prowess, and showcased his voice impressions of cartoon characters, famous personalities and celebrities.
But beyond his journey in building a business, Pocholo shared the importance of having passion for the business a person is building. He talked about the challenges he had to overcome in order to make it in the voice acting industry, even back when he was starting as a young professional. For Pocholo, having passion for what you do is the single most important characteristic of an entrepreneur, because passion is the fuel that drives a person to surmount any obstacle to success.
Pocholo also discussed other important qualities of entrepreneurs, such as having a vision, and the ability to set goals. In the end, he challenged the audience to “do something today that their future self will thank them for.”
Pocholo was also joined by fellow entrepreneur and speaker PJ Lanot, who spoke about Marketing.
