The VoiceMaster Inspires Business Students of De La Salle Lipa

De La Salle Lipa’s College of Business Economics Accountancy and Management held its annual business seminar on November 27, 2018 entitled “OPTIMUM: Unleash the Leader in You.” Over 300 students filled the DLSL Sentrum to learn about being an effective leader from their guest speaker, Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales.

Pocholo started his talk with high energy through an icebreaker, as well as series of witty remarks and hugot lines. He shared the story of how he became the VoiceMaster, and talked about the voice acting craft and his company. Pocholo told of his journey in the industry, and even amazed the audience with his voice impressions of various characters and personality.

Pocholo transitioned to the more serious part of his talk by sharing the challenges he met along the way – in his career and even in the advocacies he has founded. He talked about how his passion and dedication in helping other people become better and happy was key to helping him overcome those challenges. Pocholo then went on to speak about leadership, which he said is first and foremost about passion and dedication.

Pocholo gave the students his definition of leadership, and shared what he believed to be the important qualities of a leader – which included influence, vision and conviction, just to name a few. He also spoke about national hero Dr. Jose Rizal, and how Rizal’s principles and ideals portray the greatness and excellence of Filipinos. He challenged the students to imbibe Rizal’s example and discover their greatness.

Pocholo engaged the audience by giving them the opportunity to share their learnings and talents during his talk. In the end, Pocholo motivated the students through his Pochology “Do something today that your future self will thank you for.”
