The VoiceMaster Presents Best Book on Professions Award at the 37th National Book Awards

The 37th National Book Awards was held on November 24, 2018 at the auditorium of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Manila. This annual award is a joint effort between the National Book Development Board and Manila Critics Circle to recognize the best books publish in the country the previous year. Manila Critics Cirlce’s Dean Francis Alfar hosted the awarding ceremony.

As one of the winners in the previous year, Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales graced the event as an award presenter. He came on stage to present the Best Book on Professions Award to Architect Felino Palafox Jr., for his book entitled “The Philippines Towards Resilient Cities and Communities”.

The book offers insights into the strengths, weaknesses, and potentials of the different cities in the Philippines which can help architects, urban planners, government officials, and even ordinary citizens to formulate plans for community building, as well as disaster and risk reduction.

Pocholo was the recipient of the Best Book on Professions Award in 2017 for his book “Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent,” which provided a roadmap to building a successful voice acting career in the Philippines.

Ateneo De Manila University Press was once again awarded Publisher of the Year. The complete list of winners are available at the National Book Development Board website.
