The first ever Global Authors Summit was held on November 17, 2018 at the Powermac Center in Makati City. The whole-day summit is a seminar that featured world-renowned authors, who shared their expertise about various topics to inspire and empower future authors. It was organized by Write University founded by Miss Sha Nacino, creator of the “90-Day Book Writing Challenge.”
Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was one of the authors who spoke at the event, who talked about how to turn a book into an audiobook. Pocholo began by introducing his company Creativoices Productions, which specializes in the production of voiceovers for commercials, dubbed films and animation, e-learning, video games, and audiobooks.
Creativoices has done several audiobook projects, such as the infamous Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. Pocholo also amazed the audience with his voice acting prowess by doing several voice impressions of cartoon characters and famous personalities.

Pocholo transitioned to the subject of audiobooks. He shared the latest trends on how more people prefer to listen to audiobooks over reading the paperback. He also outlines the benefits to the author for having an audiobook version of their masterpiece.
According to Pocholo, audiobooks are as popular as watching videos for the purpose of learning and entertainment. Pocholo gave the authors tips on getting started with the production of their audiobook. He shared narration techniques that would make the text in any book – whether fiction or non-fiction – to life.
