The VoiceMaster Facilitates Training of Youth Volunteers in Passi, Iloilo

Highlight the Impact, Forward Youth Volunteers Inc. – more popularly known as HIGH FYV – is busy preparing for its upcoming Young Leaders’ Bootcamp for in Passi City. That’s why on November 10, Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was invited to facilitate the Training of Youth Volunteers for the bootcamp. The training was held at the SDO Multipurpose Building of DepEd Passi, attended by over 20 youth volunteers.

Pocholo started the training with a motivational talk on volunteerism. He began his story by giving the participants a glimpse of the voice acting industry. He even amazed them by giving a “sample” of different voice impressions. Pocholo then transitioned to the topic of passion, and how loving what you do is key to having a volunteer spirit.

Pocholo then shared his journey as a youth advocate. He spoke about the youth organization he founded, Voice of the Youth Network (VOTY), which aims to inform, inspire, involve and empower the Filipino youth through broadcasting and ICT. Through VOTY, Pocholo was able to partner with various radio stations to produce youth-oriented radio programs which are hosted and managed by students. 

VOTY also became Pocholo’s ticket to attending international youth programs in Japan, China, Australia and many more. His very first international representation was as a Philippine delegate to the Ship for Southeast Asia Youth Program (SSEAYP) – a 2-month cultural exchange program among ASEAN delegates aboard a luxury ship.

With his experiences as a youth advocate, Pocholo challenged the students to seize similar opportunities and broaden their experience as youth volunteers.

For the remainder of the day, Pocholo trained the participants on various skills such as public speaking and facilitation.

HIGH FYV is a duly registered organization under the Youth Organization Registration Program of the National Youth Commission and is recognized by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Passi City.
