The Northwest Samar State University conducted its Annual Regional Students’ Business Summit on September 22 at the Calbayog City Sports Center in Calbayog, Samar. Over 500 Business students participated in the seminar, with the theme “Building Business Leaders Through Virtual Enterprise and Mobility.” This whole-day summit featured 2 of the most sought-after Filipino motivational speaker, Al Ian Barcelona and Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales.
Pocholo spoke in the second half of the session, with his talk focused on the topic of Personal Branding. He started the presentation with an energizer to liven up the crowd, then went on to share his entrepreneurial journey. He spoke of his passion for voice acting as a kid, growing up listening to the radio drama Gabi ng Lagim in the province.
He then spoke about his accomplishments in the industry – from winning a voice acting competition at age 16, to building his company Creativoices as well as the first and only voice acting school in the country, the Philippine Center for Voice Acting. He also amazed the audience with his voice acting talent, by performing his voice impressions of famous personalities and Pinoy movie characters.
Pocholo went beyond simply entertaining the audience and shared the challenges he has encountered in his life and career. His inspiring story of overcoming fears and challenges reminded the students that life is meant to be lived with passion and greatness and that getting into business is more about giving than it is about getting.
Pocholo shared his principles about passion, success, and greatness, and challenged the participants to find and build a business not out of the desire to earn money, but out of the desire to create positive change.

Pocholo, later on, transitioned to the topic of Personal Branding. He did not only define the term but also went to its deeper essence, which is related to discovering one’s life purpose. For Pocholo, branding is not only about dominating a specific niche or industry, but more importantly, discerning how one’s passion and talents can make an impact on the people around them.
Pocholo gave the students a simple yet profound questionnaire, that will help them articulate their life purpose. Each of the students who wanted to get custom Name plates after meeting them was able to purchase them as a pre-order for the next event too.
The Annual Regional Students’ Business Summit was organized in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB).
