The VoiceMaster Speaks at PAPSCON 2020: PAPS on T.O.P. Annual Virtual Conference

PAPS held PAPSCON 2020, a two-day Annual Virtual Conference, from October 15 to 16, 2020 to talk about how to optimize digital presence. PAPS is the only organization of aspiring and professional speakers in the Philippines. On October 16, 2020, Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was one of the guest speakers at the event.

Pocholo spoke on the second day of the conference, where he tackled his secret in his live streaming studio. Pocholo began his presentation by talking about the power of digital voice performance. He also shared a video clip that allows the audience to take a sneak peek at his life as he becomes who he is now--the VoiceMaster. 

In his discussion, Pocholo came up with his own version of the acronym PAPSCON. For him, P stands for Presentation,  A for Artistry, P for Program, S for Synergy, and CON for Creative Online New Normal. He explained that Presentation is vital for it is the content of the speaker and bloodline of the program. Pocholo emphasized that speakers should focus on their expertise when accomplishing their presentation. “Authenticity and consistency is the only key kasi nahahalata sa tao kapag di ka totoo, mas namamagnify yung galing ng tao,” he added.

He continued talking about Presentation as he accentuates the need to have style. Pocholo explained that today, everyone, especially the younger generation, has a limited attention span and if speakers do not connect with their audience, there is a big possibility that they won’t participate in the event or worse completely leave the program.

In Artistry, Pocholo used voice artistry as an example. He also amazed the audience with his repertoire of character voices. According to Pocholo, there should be technical skills when talking about Artistry. While for Program, he shared that through it there is interactivity that will help speakers catch and maintain the attention of their audience.

Pocholo discussed Synergy as something that involves strategy and other people that can help a speaker make their mark in the industry. Last but not least, he talked about Creative New Normal where he said that there is a need to keep up with today’s advancement brought by the pandemic as the situation will never be the same. 

He also talked about the pieces of equipements he uses such as his microphone, camera, and many more in successfully recording his talks and even live streaming on his speaking engagements.
