The VoiceMaster Talks about CVAP at DZRH Boses ng Kabataan

Boses ng Kabataan gives voice to the Filipino Youth and provides essential information that they can use in their lives to be empowered. On March 24, 2021, Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was featured on the show to talk about his own program, the Certified Voice Artist Program (CVAP)

Pocholo has been known to be the man behind a thousand voices. This is because of his passion for educating people about voice acting as an art form through his many organizations. He is the CEO of CreatiVoices Productions and founder of VoiceWorx and Voice Act Now workshops that have already produced more than 2,000 graduates.

At the beginning of the show, Pocholo talks about CVAP with host and former student Jana Abejero. He explained that CVAP is the first-ever online voice workshop that has helped open the once monopolized world of voice acting to the new generation of online voice artists.

With him exclusively mentoring in the program and other leading voice artists, CVAP aims to reach out to starting voice artists and experienced talents in the current online-based industry. “Tinuruan ko lahat ng mga aspiring voice artist, lahat ng mga may potential to create their own home studio, pano ba mag market ng sarili nila, how to create their own brand,” he added.

Pocholo also excitedly talked about how the shift to online platforms became a factor in giving the new generation of voice artists a chance to compete with those established names in the industry. “Iilang tao lang ang nakakapasok, kasi nga you have to go to a studio, so yung studio may mga malalakas na mga voice talent lang sa kanila, mga palakasan system, now wala na, hindi na ganon, pwede ka nang magbenta ng boses mo kahit saan,” he explained

The two also talked about the participants in the program. Pocholo couldn’t help but be proud of his former students that have made it in the industry. He also shared that since CVAP is online, aspiring and experienced voice talents outside the country are also welcome to join. “I have students from 20 countries around the world, mostly mga OFWs,” Pocholo said.

Pocholo also introduced Voice Acting Academy, formerly called Philippine Center for Voice Acting, as the first and only Voice Acting School in the Philippines. Along with this is the Dubbing Academy Online which Pocholo explained as the workshop that aims to teach students how to dub from their homes.

CVAP is held every Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. Pocholo explained that both evaluative and technical topics are discussed in the program. “How to brand and market themselves, tuturuan ko rin sila magvideo editing, sound editing, magblog and vlog,” he added.

Pocholo emphasized that CVAP is not all about the technical topics of being a voice artist. In the program, he asks his students evaluative questions like why do they want to do it to assess themselves and find another reason than financial gain. “Focus on your passion, but also on your purpose. Passion is doing what you love, and purpose is do what you love for other people.

From 10,000 pesos, the program is now offered for only 5,000 pesos. Pocholo explained that this is because he wanted his students to use the remaining 5,000 pesos in buying equipment such as a microphone and a sound card.

At the end of the show, Pocholo talked about how everyone can use their voice to create positive social change. He inspired the viewers with his message “your voice is a gift from God and it is how you use it that is your gift back to God, so gamitin mo yung boses mo sa kabutihan.”
